The second Distractions album, The End Of The Pier, (YMIR7DC017) will be released on 27th August 2012- a mere 32 years after their debut the beloved Nobody's Perfect. The new LP will be out on 180g vinyl, CD and download. There's a gallery of artwork here and more images here. We'll have some track previews for you to listen to over the next few weeks but in the meantime we can promise you the wait will have been worth every minute, every second... What we can tell you right away is that these are Wiser Distractions, perhaps a little older too. The themes of the album - oh yes, it has themes - include ageing, how friendship begins and endures in spite of distance in time and space... Don't worry though, there are also a couple of songs involving girls. A few clues can be found here.
